Displayed at CES a couple of days ago, Lenovo unveiled its first professional-grade ultraportable netbook and 13-inch Thinkpad Edge notebook at a press conference this morning.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X100e sports an 11.6-inch HD LED display, an ISO full-size keyboard with a multitouch touchpad, and is equipped with choices of AMD Athlon Neo single and dual core processors and Turion dual core processors. The unit also comes pre-loaded with Windows 7 Professional and Lenovo's ThinkVantage Technologies—hardware-software tools that help customers deploy, manage and maintain their PCs.
Lenovo Australia and New Zealand's Product and Marketing Director Chris Kelly said that Lenovo's customers wanted a small notebook that does not sacrifice on power.
"Customers asked us for low cost and extreme portability without sacrificing the usability needed to run a business. By expanding the ultraportable ThinkPad X Series to reach prices under $1000, the X100e delivers on all counts," says Kelly.
