The SIM2 C3X Lumis HOST is divided into two major constituent parts - the projector and the processing electronics. And since this projector now comes with SIM2's proprietary three-line optical digital High Definition Optical Signal Transfer (HOST) system it is possible to connect the two over distances up to 250m.
The Grand Cinema C3X Lumis HOST projector sports the latest 0.95 1080p DC4 3-chip DLP chipset from Texas Instruments, the precision optics of SIM2's Alphapath light engine, and Dynamic Black technology. It has a brightness level of 3000 ANSI Lumens, and comes with the company's light intensity control system which increases the projectors contrast ratio up to 35,000:1 through the use of three separate specialised components (User-adjustable iris, Dynamic Black technology, and Dimmable lamp). SIM2's custom-designed system provides micro-second precision matched light intensity adjustment to the source material, on a frame by frame basis.
The company claims that the end result is a ‘black level and shadow detail that adds a new sense of realism to the image.'
