By David Richards | Thursday | 25/06/2009

Sharp has been slam dunked by the U.S. International Trade Commission after an order was issued against the Japanese Company for violating a Samsung LCD TV patent.

Sharp has been slam dunked The U.S. International Trade Commission after an order was issued against the Japanese Company for violating a Samsung LCD TV patent.

The order prevents them shipping LCD TV's into the USA using the allegedly infringing technology.

Several of the TV's which are set to be blocked from being sold in the USA were sold in Australia and several other Countries other than the USA court evidence has revealed.

According to TWICE Samsung originally filed its complaint against Sharp last December, claiming that some Sharp-made LCD TVs violated some of it patents. The ITC Wednesday upheld an administrative law judge's determination of violation on one of those claims (patent 344) and rejected another (patent 311).

Sharp said that as a result of the Court case they have taken action re the infringing technology and that all future Sharp LCD TV's shipped into Australia will no longer contain infringing technology.
