By Mendelson Tiu | Thursday | 25/06/2009

Toshiba announced its appointment as a Partner of the Australian Commonwealth Games team for the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games.

Using its new association with the 2010 Team, the company will soon embark on an advertising campaign highlighting its state-of-the-art products  as well as its green credentials,  building on a global reputation for quality and reliability, with a remarkable range of powerful market-leading technologies across its IT and AV products.

Toshiba's General Manager, Mark Whittard said, "Toshiba has a strong heritage in supporting athletes across the globe, including our nation's talented cyclists and especially our brand ambassador Anna Meares. Power, speed, reliability and performance are all critical to the success of sportsmen and women, and these are the same winning attributes that Toshiba strives to deliver to our customers through our leading technologies."

CEO of Commonwealth Games Australia, Perry Crosswhite said, "The outstanding support from Toshiba is very important in ensuring the Australian Team athletes have the opportunity to compete and do their best in Delhi in 2010.  Having a world leader consumer electronics company like Toshiba as a 2010 Australian Commonwealth Games Team Partner is very prestigious and is greatly appreciated."

The Team Partner sponsorship gives Toshiba exclusive rights to use the Commonwealth Games logo and imagery in the computers and television categories.
