Top of the range is the SX210 IS, which is specifically designed for advanced users who want to step up from their existing compact model to a new generation model packed with new shooting capabilities.

The SX210 has an extremely long-range 14X (28-392mm equivalent) lens and a 14-megapixel sensor. It also has a pop up flash and records 720p video and supports the newer SDXC card format.
Also in the
Canon line up is the SD3500 IS which has a 3.5-inch touchscreen and uses even fewer discreet buttons than
Canon's previous touchscreen model.
Canon says its PowerShot SD3500 IS represents a "significant milestone" in the evolution of the ELPH series. The camera sports a large 3.5-inch wide LCD touch screen, a 24mm ultra-wide angle lens with 5x Optical Zoom, 14.1-Megapixel resolution, HD quality video, compatible with Eye-Fi memory cards for wireless transfer of video and photo files to PCs, and is available in three colour variations—black, silver and pink.
The PowerShot SD3500 IS is scheduled to be available in the second quarter in Australia.

In their mid to entry level range
Canon has revealed the SD1400 IS, which management are hoping will become a key seller. This model has the 14-megapixel sensor plus 720p video. An interesting design feature is the extension of the case colour to the lens barrel.
It has a shorter-ranged 4X (28-112mm) lens that the top end compact model. A budget model the SD1300 IS, which only has 12 megapixels and no video capability is also available for the Australian market.
