The CEO of OMC Middle East, David Dobouny, who also ran the failed Australian operation, is now trying to hide his troubled past with demands to SmartHouse to remove any stories relating to the company's past failures.
Back in 2006, OMC SmartHouse Technologies, which originally operated as OMC SmartHouse Solutions, until it was challenged by SmartHome Solutions about the similarity of the name, described itself as "The leading Australian automation and smart home company".
Run by David and Omar Dobouny, the directors of OMCST were originally from the UK. They arrived in the Australian market in 2003 when the directors of the company bragged to SmartHouse that they were "set to turn the Australian automation market on its head". "We aim to be #1 within 2 years," David Dobouny said at the time.
Instead, the company quit the market for the Middle East, leaving behind unfinished jobs and thousands in debt including employees who are still waiting to be paid.
Now the Middle East company, which lists David Dobouny as Chief Executive Officer, OMC Middle East, is making new claims about its skills.
On its web site its says that OMC has been active in the large scale home automation and audio-visual industry since 1997. It says that OMC Middle East LLC (OMC) is a Dubai registered specialist in extra-low voltage System Integration.
